Amos (18) is a form 6 student at Ntare School in Mbarara in Uganda. Amos is the continental winner for the 7th Edition of the DStv Eutelsat Star awards for his essay titled ‘Satellites and the New Age’. His combination in his final year of high school includes History, Economics and Literature and he intends to study law at tertiary level. He is an astute young man with previous accolades to his name including the Stanbic Bank essay writing winner 2017 and best debater in country in 2014.
Rasheed is a 19-year-old student doing Art on a part time basis at Al Madrasa. He is currently studying towards a Foundation in Accountancy (FIA) course at the Financial Training Centre (FTC) in Tanzania. Rasheed artistic journey started with small drawings of simple projects. Gradually his skills improved and he progressed into bigger and better projects that inspire him to achieve more success in life. He believes Art is something that can be created by anyone, but it takes that special observation that only an artist can see and understand and that's where an artist becomes a little bit more special. Rasheed’s words of wisdom are that “If you put some patience and hard work in anything that you want to do, you can create wonders!”
